

Following a career of 40 years as Pulp & Paper water treatment specialist, both in the industry as well as with a supplier, Leo Habets is now available as independent advisor for Pulp & Paper mills that face waste water and process water challenges.
He Studied at Wageningen University with focus on Waste water treatment and development of granular sludge for anaerobic treatment

First job was water treatment specialist with a Dutch Paper Group, where he realized the worldwide first 3 full scale Anaerobic upflow reactors on paper mill effluent. One for a Corrugated Case Material mill; a second for a Tissue mill and a third for a Solid Board mill.
During his years at Paques BV more than 300 effluent treatment plants were designed and delivered in the P&P industry. Among them 5 succesfull zero discharge projects from his spirit.

Leo wrote more than 40 publications on Pulp & Paper effluent projects, gave numorous presentations, trainings and lectures and was the company patent manager for 25 years.
Besides al water business activity he developed a liquid fertilizer product from the elemental Sulphur deposit from biogas desulphurization and launched the product (Fertipaq) succesfully into the agricultural market.
